It's in your eyes and it ain't pretty
Frustration building up in the city
It breaks - hear a snap noise switches to silence
got coalitions and a task force
to help stop the violence

stop the spreading of this external disease

local news don't show the blood on the street
why do we seem to mix like water and grease
instead of embracing differences
that make us unique

To many love seems soft, makes you look weak
tarnishing the tough image shown on the street
doesn't matter where you're from it's all the same
when your playing the territorial game
I can see that there's fault in the system
no jobs - fake promises and false wisdom
from the politicians but I just turn the station
I'm watchin' pre-recorded tapes
while they're all on vacation
out on the street conditions are critical
so let me step to the mental
and out of the physical
not all that it seems in theatres and on book shelves
all we need to do is save us from ourselves
it's no secret so i'm not breaking any silence
how many times have we heard 'Stop the Violence'
read the news and it's on many pages
violence doesn't discriminate
doesn't care about ages
people dying and it's just gotta cease
start making resolution and mix it with peace
there's another way

Patience is what we need but it's running out
holding the anger back but the wall's breaking out
I don't fear what it is you might do
If I think I'm more superior than you
that's part of the problem we think we're all set above
but we soared up too high above the peace and the love
can no longer see it and somehow we're blind
searching for answers that aren't so easy to find
but it's right there in front of your face
take out the violence and let peace take it's place
easier said than done - all seems like simple math
but it's not so easy on the streets
to pick the right path
