Behind The Music Featured Track

Each month, I will go behind the music and tell you what my inspiration for writing each track was. Behind every song that I write is a message. Though most of my tracks are instrumentals, I have written tracks with lyrics and vocals. With instrumentals I express it just using the music and creating an environment with it that the listener can connect with.

This month's feature track is 'Silence the Violence'.

In light of School Shootings and generally just seeing anger in young kids, growing up in a tough neighborhood and have a son of my own, I learned that much like when I was younger, the kids today seem to think violence is the answer, that violence is the solution and too many adults ignore and don't address the problem. If I could just somehow address it through music maybe I could get a strong message accross to these young minds who loved hip-hop music.

Since I don't consider myself a rapper, I decided to do a spoken word type format and sat down and started writing the lyrics and composing the music. The result was a track that all the kids seemed to be talking about and played in their cars before and after School. I had successfully brought a positive message and the kids wrote a School newspaper article about me and my split personality between computer expert and music producer.
